An Economic Analysis of Family Affective Moral Education

Since the first half of 20th century, the value of emotionalism in the moral Education is increasingly being noticed. As a new moral Education paradigm, affective moral Education has been put forward and has caused a research upsurge. The abroad application of Economic methods in the Social science, all kinds of choosing and decision-making existed in the theory and practice of moral education, and Economic characteristics of moral education and sensibilities and so on, all of these make it necessary and possible of educational research to analyze and discuss the problem of affective moral education in family with economic methods.First, the research analyzes and discusses the value and function of family affective moral education based on economic theory of supply and demand. The research analyzes the value and function of moral education according to moral demand, and then discusses the value and function of sensibilities to moral education according to education efficiency. Be established in this, the research has found an ideal model of moral supply and demand in economic sense. In this model, the productive function of family affective moral education has been showed itself.Next, in order to research the status of family in the system of affective moral education, the research compares family with school in the aspect of advantage for affective moral education based economic theory of comparative advantage. The research reviews the theory and analyzes its adaptability, and then starts to compare from two angles which are absolute advantage and comparative advantage. Thereinto, after comparing input and use of sensibilities between family and school from quantity aspect and quality aspect, the research draw a conclusion that family has absolute advantage. At the same time, the research draw a conclusion that family also has comparative advantage after respective counting the opportunity cost both in family and in school, because the opportunity cost in family is lower than the opportunity cost in school.At length, the research analyzes the process of family affective moral education with economic theory of production. The research reviews the theory, compares the process of moral education with the process of material production and then analyzes the adaptability of the theory. According to the particularity of the process of family affective moral education, the research has found a moral productive function. By detail analyzing the process of moral production(moral education)when the input of parents’affective factor is in the state of changing, the research has draw a conclusion that the process has three stages and there are different rates between the input of affective factor and the production of moral in the stages. These differences offer a theoretical guidance to family affective moral education.
